The Consumer Experiences of Care Project aims to roadtest  a Consumer Experiences of Care Survey tool geared to measure recovery oriented care the consumer receives  from mental health services and  devise  method to best report on this. More details here:  NMH-CEoC Ebulletin 1.pdf

A mental health consumer experiences of care survey and the process to develop it was begun in 2010 as a  Federal Department of Health and Aging (DoHA) driven initiative .  

The Victorian Department of Health has been asked to assist in progressing this work by setting the Consumer Experiences of Care Project. The main purpose of the project is to to develop a suitable survey tool that can be used in clinical adult public health services.

ARAFMI has conducted an on-line survey for carers and consumers about the impact of the implementation of the smoke free workplace policy on all NSW Health controlled or funded sites. Here are the results of this preliminary survey.

NSW Health and Local Heath Districts have adopted the ‘NSW Health Smoke Free Workplace Policy’ aiming to create environments for all visitors, patients and staff free of smoking and Environmental Tobacco Smoke at all hospital campuses and sites controlled or funded by NSW Health. ARAFMI is conducting an on-line survey to gauge the impact of the smoking ban on mental health consumers and carers. Take it now and share you experiences.

Since the commencement of the policy in 1999, each of the Area Health Services (now LHDs) progressed through the phases of implementation of the policy at different rates.

The Mental Health Council of Australia (MHCA) is undertaking a consumer and carer survey about the behaviour of health professionals towards people with mental illness.

As the peak national body for mental health the MCHA is committed to ensuring fair and equitable mental health services for all Australians.  We understand that feelings of discrimination, victimisation, or negative judgement create a real barrier to effective engagement in mental health treatment.
