Corporate Partnerships

 

ARAFMI provides support and advocacy for families and friends with mental illness or disorder.  ARAFMI plays a role in lobbying and advocating for families and carers of people with a mental illness and provides the administration, support, information and representation for the ARAFMI branches at a government level. The local ARAFMI branches and support groups provide a number of programs for carers, family sensitive training for service providers and family services to enable the families to have respite from their caring role.

 

Our aim is to maintain and improve existing levels of support and crisis resolution to all relatives and friends of people with a mental illness, including: 

 

  • Connect families to support services and information 
  • Carers in rural NSW
  • Carers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent
  • Carers from non-English speaking backgrounds
  • Young people, especially siblings and children of the mentally ill
