  • An anonymous carer tells a story of reaching the limit of their capacity to cope.

  • I attended Blokes Day a few Sundays ago  at Clarendon showground.  The event had a lot of drawcards aimed to attract men – vintage engines, motorcycles, trucks, tools and more.  The underlying point was to draw men and their families in and bring them into contact with information and services around the issue of men’s health. However it seems that even in this day and age there are still some 'taboos' in our society.

  • Our daughter experienced onset of bipolar disorder and bulimia nervosa when she was around 16.  We went through a period of denial, cleaning up vomit and discarded food stuffs along the way, until it became obvious that there was a problem.

  • In the early 1990s, I was a volunteer rescue operator with the NSW State Emergency Service, attached to the Hawkesbury unit which covered a huge area spanning from St. Albans across to the botanical gardens on the Bells Line of road. The crew was regularly called upon to travel an hour or more to attend incidents.
