Volunteers Required

Many hands make light work

Mental Health Carers ARAFMI NSW invite volunteers who wish to support and contribute to our work across a number of areas.

Volunteers are required for the following:

Telephone Information & Support Line:

The Information and Support Line operates Monday to Friday (9am - 5pm) and provides information, support and referral to callers. Volunteers are supported with initial training and orientation as well as workplace supervision and support. Training and support is an ongoing aspect of the role.

Newsletters &  Publications:

Volunteers with knowledge and experience in desktop publishing are required to assist with the development, planning and publication of our newsletters to inform members and other stakeholders of developments and information relating to families and carers of people with a mental illness.

The newsletter will be a bi-monthly publication and will provide new and up to date information as well as collating reports and matters of interest from our Regional Offices. We also seek volunteers with skills in the development and publication of e-newsletters.

Policy, Research and Submissions:

As the NSW Peak Body for Mental Health Families and Carers we are often required to provide feedback and offer submissions to all levels of government as well as other stakeholders and interested parties. Volunteers who have a background in research, law, policy development, submission writing, etc would be most welcome. Your contribution will assist us in providing relevant and timley advice in regards to the needs of mental health families and carers.

Administration Roles:

We also have a number of opportunities for volunteers who wish to support us through a variety of administration roles. Your contribution will assist our dedicated administration staff in running a small but busy NSW Office.

If you are interested in any of the roles we have described, please call Sunny at the NSW Office to discuss how you can support our organisation. You can contact Sunny on 9332-0777 (Mon, Tues, Thurs & Friday) or via website@arafmi.org

If you have skills that you would like to utilise to contribute to the role of Mental Health Carers ARAFMI NSW, we would love to hear from you. You may be interested in the above areas or you may have other skills you would like to offer. Feel free to contact us to discuss the many ways that you can contribute to the care and support of families, relatives and friends of people with a mental illness.
