The Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Office (MHDAO) at NSW Health are currently developing Mental Health Clinical Service Standards (CSS) which will describe and guide the quality of care mental health units are expected to meet in terms of clinical practice.
As part of the program, a reference group consisting of practising clinicians, consumers and other relevant stakeholders will be established to ensure the CSS program meets its objectives and remains on target.
Mental Health Carers ARAFMI NSW have been invited to sit as a member of the reference group. We are now calling for family members and carers of people with a mental illness to represent ARAFMI on the reference group.
The Terms of Reference outlining the roles and responsibilities in more detail are attached.
Individuals who are interested to represent mental health families and carers are invited to apply to Mental Health Carers ARAFMI NSW.
The nominated representative will receive training and support to assist in their role. Please note that no sitting fees are paid but reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
To nominate or for more information please contact Mr. Keiran Booth, CEO, Mental Health Carers ARAFMI NSW on (02) 9332 0777 or via email at website@arafmi.org
